Garden festoon lights, 40 shatterproof G40 bulbs plus 2 spares

About this product

The string is 30 m (100 ft) with a 3 m lead, carrying 40 vintage-style G40 LED bulbs in shatterproof plastic. Two spare bulbs and a few cable ties are in the box, along with the remote. The power is 24V from the mains and the rating is IPX4.

The remote sets four brightness levels (25, 50, 75 and 100 percent), three lighting modes and two timers: 3 hours on and 21 off, or 6 on and 18 off. A memory function keeps the last setting. Each bulb fits into an E12 base and must be turned until it is tight, or it may not light. The listing gives it for indoor and outdoor use.

What to use it for

With a 3 m lead and 40 bulbs spread over 30 m, the string can be hung across a gazebo, along a pergola or over a patio, with the cable ties holding the cable in place.

Care and safety

Turn each bulb until it sits tight in its E12 base, as the seller advises, and unplug the string before swapping a bulb. Store the spares with the string.
