24 m solar fairy lights, 240 warm white LEDs, 8 modes

About this product

The string is 24 m (79 ft) long with 240 warm white LEDs, each 10 cm from the next, on a flexible PVC-covered wire. The solar panel has an adjustable angle and a 1200 mAh rechargeable battery, and the listing says 6 to 8 hours of daytime charging gives 8 to 14 hours of light at night. The set weighs 186 g.

A button behind the panel picks one of eight modes, including combination, fireflies flashing, waves, fading, chasing flashing, twinkle flashing and steady on, and the string remembers its setting. The listing rates every part IP65 and gives it for outdoor use. The seller notes that the switch has to stay on during the day so the lights charge.

What to use it for

At 24 m with a light every 10 cm, it can follow a fence line, a gate or a large tree, as long as the panel sits in daylight.

Care and safety

Leave the switch on so the battery can charge during the day, as the seller advises. Wipe dust and leaves off the panel.
