About this product

The Chef edition of the Elf Mates is a boy elf with a soft plush body and a vinyl head, about 12 inches (30 cm) tall. The listing says it comes from the creators of The Elf on the Shelf and describes it as a companion for the Scout Elf, not the Scout Elf itself.

The velcro hands let the elf hang from furniture or other spots around the house. The colours are listed as blue and red, the weight as 50 g, and the elf needs no batteries or assembly. It is listed for indoor use. Amazon buyers rate it 4.7 out of 5 from 277 reviews.

What to use it for

Added to an Elf on the Shelf scene as a companion to the Scout Elf, hung by its velcro hands from furniture or a wall for the child to find.

Care and safety

Wipe the vinyl head and spot clean the plush body with a damp cloth, which is the gentler route when no care instructions are given.
